The Caribbean is a vast array of Islands, formerly collectively known as the West Indies. Each Island has its own specific culture. Although produce and exports vary, a variety of fruit is exported from many of these Islands, namely bananas, mango and pineapples, to countries the world over. The music of the Caribbean is now internationally recognised and loved in the Western World, ranging from the traditional pans (steel drums) to the more contemporary reggae and ragga. However, far and away the Caribbean’s main income is now from tourism, because of its wonderful climate and the fact that it boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
