My Grandparents were married at St Johns Parish Church, Ipswich, on 5 March 1917. This was typical dress for a working class wedding. If the groom was in the forces then he would wear his uniform not a suit.

The design of the bridesmaid's dresses is very simple, and the two elder ones are wearing mopcaps, not hats
