Carham
St Cuthbert's Parish Church sits on the site of an ancient church, the date of which is unknown but is certainly tenth century and quite possibly as early as the seventh century. The present building was built in 1790, extended during the 1860's and major rebuilding of the tower took place in 2004. A peaceful rural setting overlooking the River Tweed and the bordering Scottish counties of Berwickshire and Roxburghshire awaits the visitor.
Corbridge
St Andrews Corbridge Northumberland1 is an ancient church, parts of which date back to the eighth century. The building has been changed through time, the source of some of the materials may seem suprising. The town sits close to Hadrians wall and parts of the building use stones from the wall, parts of the nearby old Roman Fort have also been utilised.
An unusual feature is the pele tower in the grounds of the church, in former times this was used as the residence for the clergy of the church.
