This is the section for images of uniforms. Please state what uniform it is - one of the forces, nursing or something else.

Pictured is my husbands grandfather Peter Henry Harrison, who was a private in The Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.This picture was taken whilst he was a a Prisoner of War in a camp on the Russian / German border

Private Broughton Abbott, enlisted 25 April 1915, died 27 July 1917 near Calais.

Herbert Edward Crisp (seated) served 1916-1919. This was taken in France, the back just has "Carte Postale" on. His unpolished boots are worn with the spurs which are still in his son's possession. The rough chair and visible floorboards suggest that the photo was taken under the difficult conditions of the time.

Picture shows my Grandfather, Edgar Newey 1883 -1934, who was a private in the Durham Light Infantry. He was called up in 1916 when they started recruiting older men. He had previously served in the Boer War with the North Staffordshire regiment

Picture shows Francis Stanbridge who was killed in action in 1916. He was a private with the 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders. He had joined the North Staffordshire regiment in 1914 and was discharged having been unfit to serve.

RAF Officers full dress uniform. Submitted by Bo the Bodger
This photo of my father is c1942. Note the white gloves and the hat. It was designed to resemble the original flying helmet and it consisted of a leather skull cap trimmed with black rabbit fur. The helmet also featured an ostrich feather plume which was connected at an RAF badge. This helmet was never popular and junior officers were eventually permitted to wear the service dress hat on full dress occasions.
