The mainland consists mainly of a large peninsula and many islands, bordering Germany and both the Baltic and the North Sea. The country is one of the flattest in the world; with very few places much above sea level it also has two off-shore territories; Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
Much of Denmark's economy is based on export of goods - agriculture being efficient and the fact that the country is home to many manufacturers whose name is recognised the world over, Lego being but one.
'Wonderful wonderful Copenhagen' as in the words of the song, the capital of Denmark, is cosmopolitan and busy, where in the harbour one can see the statue of 'The Little Mermaid' commissioned by another famous son of Denmark Carl Jacobsen, son of the founder of Carlsberg Brewery.
