The Caribbean is a vast array of islands, formerly collectively known as the West Indies. Each island has its own specific culture. Although produce and exports vary, many of these islands export varieties of fruit, namely bananas, mango and pineapples, to countries the world over. The music of the Caribbean is now internationally recognised and loved in the Western World, and ranges from the traditional pans (steel drums) to the more contemporary reggae and ragga. However, the Caribbean’s main source of income is now tourism, thanks to its wonderful climate and the fact that it boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
